Planning: Props

Bottles of beer will be evident in the main protagonists bedroom to highlight his bad drinking habit and the fact that he went out the night before. Other mess will be visible around his room, such as food, takeaway wrappers and dirty laundry in order to act as an extended metaphor on how his life is a mess.
I will need to feature a container featuring pills within them - these don't specifically have to be antidepressants but this will be alluded to through the context of the video.
Before the filming of the music video, I will need to do a photo shoot to get a photograph of the Ashley and Paula together so the audience will be able to gather that they are, or used to be, in a relationship.

After the photo shoot, I imported the photo onto Photoshop in order to replace the white background with something more natural looking. Here is how I achieved this:

Firstly, I inputted a new background in order to replace the previous plain, white one; this way it makes the photo look less staged and artificial.

Next, I blurred out the background so that the couple are the focal point. To make them harmonise with the background I added in patches of light, such as the light reflected on her glasses and his shoulder. To match this I added in a stream of light coming out of the trees to give the image a sense of continuity.

I noticed that the background and foreground had different colour schemes. To make the tones match, I gave the foreground a yellow-ish tint which gave the photograph some verisimilitude. Here is the final product that I will be using in my music video:
